Seminar / Conference
16-18 November 2016 | Bonn, Germany

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

The 1st participation lab of “Ignite the spark” explores how we can empower underrepresented groups for participation in democratic life. In this lab we want to learn, share and experiment what youth workers and multipliers could do to be helpful in this.

Across Europe the understanding of what participation actually is differs.

This project assumes that all forms are interrelated, and lead to a greater democratic participation and active citizenship.

This long-term project aims are:

The project has a core interest in strengthening participation for groups which are normally underrepresented and have less access to ways of influencing their living environment. This includes young refugees and migrants, people of ethnic minority background, NEETs, young apprentices, trainees and young people in vocational training centers.

This activity will be the first of a set of 3 Participation Labs with 25 – 30 participants with a good mixture of field youth workers, trainers, youth leaders, project managers, youth policy makers, any other multiplier in working with young people with fewer opportunities.

All costs (accommodation, meals etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the YiA National Agency of Germany. Travel costs will be covered up to 95% by the Hellenic National Agency.
